I’ve always heard the phrase, “write what you know.” This is what I know: I am a church secretary. That’s how a lot of people know me. Sometimes it’s the church lady, the church receptionist, ministry assistant, etc. I have a real love/hate relationship with my job, the church, and congregation members, depending on what day you find me.
I’m a little bit of a rebel here in the church. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not as far out as sex, drugs, and rock n roll. It’s more in the form of celebrity gossip, fried chicken, and reality tv. My loves also include fashion, art, interior decorating, graphic design, soap operas, and movies. I’ve also been know to keep way too many hair products in the church bathroom, find how-to hair & make up youtube videos for fellow co-workers, and make/wear the best accessories (something that I pride myself on). And I think I may have been Scarlett O'Hara in another life.
I started this blog as sort of a creative outlet. I’m not here to promote one church, belief, or ministry; but to amuse, inspire, and encourage. If you work for a church, you would definitely agree that you are always in need of the later three. I also hope to share some handy dandy tips that I have learned along the way.
